The Pine Box

Welcome to The Pine Box, a unique pub in the heart of Seattle offering a fusion of New American cuisine and delicious pizzas. Located at 1600 Melrose Ave, this establishment is a must-visit for food enthusiasts looking for a casual yet lively dining experience.

One of the standout features of The Pine Box is its eclectic menu, which includes options for vegans and vegetarians, as well as a range of pub classics with a modern twist. From the Sausage & Succotash brats to the War Pigs meatballs, each dish is crafted with care and creativity.

As a food reviewer of Restaurant World, I can attest to the quality and flavors of the dishes at The Pine Box. The Morguearita Pizza with fresh mozzarella and basil on a house red sauce is a definite highlight, as is the Death Cap pizza with roasted mushrooms and truffled goat cheese.

The ambiance at The Pine Box is equally inviting, with a historic setting that pays homage to its past as a funeral parlor. The outdoor seating, full bar, and happy hour specials make it a great spot for gathering with friends or enjoying a night out.

Overall, The Pine Box stands out for its unique concept, diverse menu offerings, and welcoming atmosphere. My second time at the Pine Box, this time early on a Saturday so not nearly as busy. Enjoyed taking in all the ambiance that this former funeral parlor for the Bruce Lee funeral and all the pictures and memorabilia. Had a great pretzel with an amazing dill inspired mustard, it was wheat I believe which was also interesting. Of course enjoyed a couple local beers which were also very nice. Everyone should add this off the beaten path stop when in downtown Seattle.

This place is very cute and spooky as it used to be a mortuary. I was highly impressed with the drunchies (drunk munchies) they had. The bartenders were chill and attentive. I would definitely come here for some midnight munchies after hopping around cap hill.

This spot has an excellent happy hour! Really good discounts on drinks and food. We loved the Adult Lunchable option. We ended up with a snack tray due to a kitchen mix up so we tried that as well. I had a pint of beer as well. And then my partner got a pepperoni pizza that he was impressed with. The service was solid and food came out pretty quickly. The ambiance was really interesting and fun because it's in what was formerly a funeral home/chapel. They have embraced the macabre and played a lot of metal music and the decor is sort of like a gothic dive bar, which we thought was really cool. We would definitely come back here!
